Recognition of Prior Learning

Already flying? Turn your licences, training and experience into a nationally recognised qualification through our Recognition of Prior Learning process

RPL Process

Application and Assessment

Please note: We assess applications on a case-by-case basis. Processing times can vary for a range of reasons, including:

  • Whether you have submitted an application with all necessary supporting documents. If more documents are requested, the processing days will reset to zero.
  • The quality of documents submitted. Documents hard to read will require resubmission.
  • How quickly you respond to requests for more information.
  • How long it takes us to perform the required checks.

Processing times are also impacted by cases that are complex and changes to the volume of applications. Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive your report.

Aviation Australia is approved to conduct Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) from your existing qualifications, training and experience against the outcomes detailed below.

Before enrolling into any RPL, Aviation Australia recommends reading the RPL Evidence Guide thoroughly. Applications submitted without evidence or with missing information will increase processing times.
