Partnerships that expand opportunity

Aviation Australia and CAE Malaysia have launched a five-year transnational aircraft maintenance training program designed to take participants from no previous aviation qualifications through to Type Rated Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1.1) outcomes. Training is delivered across Malaysia and Australia, with CAE supporting type training and on-the-job experience. The program provides pathways to CAAM and EASA aircraft maintenance licences, together with an Australian-recognised Diploma and an ICAO-aligned competency report. The partnership is designed to help address aircraft engineering workforce shortages in Malaysia and build locally based technical capability.

Aviation Australia and Royal Brunei Airlines have formalised a long-term partnership focused on aircraft maintenance training and workforce development for Brunei's national carrier. The partnership builds on an existing cohort of 10 Royal Brunei Airlines engineering apprentices studying the Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with Aviation Australia in Brisbane. The students are scheduled to graduate in July 2027 before returning to Royal Brunei Airlines to continue their careers across the airline's fleet. The broader partnership will also explore customised training, technical knowledge sharing and future workforce development initiatives.

Aviation Australia and SriLankan Aviation College have established a joint transnational Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program providing a pathway towards an EASA Part 66 aircraft maintenance licence Students commence training with SriLankan Aviation College in Colombo for six months before transferring to Aviation Australia in Brisbane for a further 12 months, including practical training in Aviation Australia's EASA-approved Part 147 training facility and live aircraft maintenance training environment. Successful students graduate with a Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Mechanical) and an EASA Part 147 Certificate of Recognition.

Aviation Australia has signed an MoU with the Oceania Institute of Technology to establish a framework for aviation training delivery in Fiji and the wider Pacific region. Unlike the three partnerships above, this is currently an intent-to-deliver partnership, so I'd make that distinction clear on the website. The organisations will explore opportunities in remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), ground operations and other aviation programs aligned to regional workforce needs. The collaboration will also investigate regulatory and accreditation requirements, facilities and resources, employment pathways and structured workplace learning. Intended outcome: Bring recognised aviation training closer to Pacific learners while helping regional employers build future workforce capability.
